Quaternary Ammonium
Compound (QAC) Biocide
Geopure® 2066 is a broad-spectrum, non-oxidizing biocide
formulated with high-purity quaternary ammonium compounds
(QACs) for effective microbial control in cooling water
treatment systems. QACs act by disrupting microbial cell
membranes and denaturing proteins, leading to rapid kill
of bacteria, algae, and fungi.
Geopure® 2066 also provides residual protection due to its
surface-active nature, helping to prevent slime buildup
and biofilm formation on heat exchange surfaces. It is
highly effective over a wide pH range and in waters with
moderate organic load, making it ideal for alternating
with oxidizing biocides in a comprehensive water treatment
program.

- Surface Active: Improves penetration and cleaning of wetted surfaces
Purpose: Control of bacteria, algae, and fungi in open recirculating cooling systems.
Initial / Shock Dose
- 100–150 mg/L (ppm) as product to the recirculating water. Hold for 4–6 hours with minimal bleed-off.
- Use during system start-up or when microbiological counts are high.
Routine Maintenance Dose
- 50–100 mg/L (ppm) as product every 3–5 days, depending on system conditions, water quality, and microbiological monitoring.
Program Guidelines
- Apply as a slug dose in a turbulent area of the cooling water circuit.
- Alternate with oxidizing biocides to minimize microbial resistance.
- Maintain pH between 6.0 and 9.0 during application.
- Avoid direct mixing with strong oxidizing agents in the feed line.
Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area, away from heat, direct sunlight, and strong oxidizers.
Recommended storage temperature: 5–30 °C.
Keep container tightly sealed when not in use.
Wear chemical-resistant gloves, goggles or face shield, and protective clothing during handling.
Avoid release into drains or natural waterways in concentrated form.
In case of spill, absorb with inert material and dispose of according to local regulations.
12 months in original, unopened container under recommended storage conditions.
